Thailand has something to offer everyone, no matter your interests or budget. Whether you are after a relaxing getaway soaking up the sun on an island or a non-stop city experience in Bangkok, Thailand can tick all of your boxes. Consider putting these 5 things on your itinerary if you want to get the full experience if you are travelling to Thailand soon.
Relax With A Spa Package
Need to fit some quality “me” time into your trip? It won’t cost you an arm and a leg to spend the whole day (Yes, the whole day) receiving beautiful spa treatments and getting pampered from head to toe when travelling to Thailand. Seek out a local spa business which offers packages featuring massages, facials and hair treatments and enjoy being transported to a completely different world. Your body will be thanking you for days to come.
Find A Floating Market And Take A Cruise
Floating markets are quite popular in Thailand and have been running, or should I say floating, for years. They are little stalls lining the water banks offering crafts and souvenirs and other boats cruising past with the wafting scent of fresh food trailing them. It’s a great experience to cruise the water in a long-tailed boat, taking in the fast-paced nature of the markets and chowing down on some of the nations best food and local produce.
Visit Phi Phi Islands
When I say cruise, I mean cruise. I don’t recommend the speed boat option unless you have a stomach of steel, so ditch the fast boat and take a big tour boat out to the famous Phi Phi Islands. Snorkel in the crystal clear waters, be mesmerised by the beautiful coves that the islands have to offer and soak in the sun on the white sandy beaches. There is certainly a good day to be had by any water lover, and you’ll be talking about your day-trip for years to come no doubt.
Explore the streets Bangkok in a Tuk-Tuk
Not the safest of transport method, but by far the most effective and fun when travelling through Thailand. A highlight of my holiday was riding in the back of a Tuk-Tuk – what an exhilarating adrenalin rush! You should always barter with the drivers first to ensure you don’t get ripped off, and then jump in and hold on. Taxi’s are available around the popular tourist cities, however you have to ride in a Tuk-Tuk at least once to get the true Thailand experience!
Eat The Street Food
Don’t be shy when it comes to eating from the many vendors that line the streets of major tourist regions in Thailand (particularly Bangkok and Phuket). The options on what to eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner are endless! Don’t forget to taste the local cuisine and try something you wouldn’t normally order – you might be pleasantly surprised. Bon appetit!
While there are so many more activities to fill your time with when travelling to Thailand, these 5 things were definitely some of my favourites to see the country and experience the culture when I visited Thailand, so get out there and enjoy!
